Special Issue: Recent Developments in OR: Theory and Applications

The Journal of the Operations Research Society of China seeks submissions for a special issue on Recent Developments in OR: Theory and Applications. The deadline for submission is December 19, 2018.


This is a call for papers that make a significant contribution to the topic of recent developments in Operations Research (OR) from Theory to Applications in the fast changing world. It is open to all researchers of OR and its related areas.


We would like to encourage, in particular, all participants of the 13th International Symposium on Operations Research and its Applications (ISORA2018) are cordially invited to submit the full papers for consideration for possible publication in this Special Issue of Journal of the Operations Research Society of China as regular papers.


We are particularly interested in submissions that report on experimental and applied research motivated by practical social and industrial problems. Theoretical and applied papers are expected to show convincingly the usefulness and efficiency of models, algorithms, and decision supporting tools discussed in a practical setting. Typical, but not exclusive, topics of interest are:


Optimization theory & applications

Deterministic and stochastic models

Queueing theory and its applications

Big data analytics

Algorithms and design

Logistics management

Telecommunication networks

Complex networks

Emergency and disaster management

Health care models

OR applications in public sector

OR practices in industry, service, finance, business, military and biology.


Authors should submit a manuscript by December 19, 2018, via the Journal’s online submission site: http://www.edmgr.com/jorc, by selecting both the article type and section/category  : “S.I.: Recent Developments in OR”.


All submissions will be subject to the standard peer reviewing process. Accepted papers will be published online individually (https://link.springer.com/journal/40305), before print publication.
